I’ve decided that my new goal is to lose 15lbs by the time I go to Ireland. I leave for Ireland on November 23rd. That means I have 121 days, or just over 17 weeks. This is a COMPLETELY do-able goal and I’m putting it out here to assist me in staying accountable. I’m not going to post every day, but I’m going to post more often. I’m going to be 100% honest with my food intake, track my workouts, etc. I need to get re-focused and the only way for me to do that is to not keep any secrets – so that’s my intention. 🙂

Today I did well. I can honestly say that for the first time in a REALLY long time. I updated my “My Fitness Pal” goals today and it adjusted me to eat about 1690 calories per day. Mind you, my previous calorie goal was 1,200. The more you weigh, the more calories you need for energy. As you lose weight, your necessary calorie amount will decrease along with it. Make sense? When I was at my lowest weight, I only needed those 1,200 calories. Having MFP tell me I need an extra 400+ calories was kind of a slap in the face, not gonna lie. But that’s the reason for my refocus, right? Right.

Anyway, my calorie intake today was just under 1,300. I have this habit of eating in my car… and it’s a horrible habit. I think it’s comparable to smoking. A lot of people smoke in the car because that’s just what they’re used to… getting in and lighting up. If I have snacks in my car, I can almost guarantee you that the entire bag is gone by the time I get to where I need to be. Today I went to Woodman’s and purchased Multi-grain crackers (which I haven’t eaten in SO long, so needless to say, I was excited), and I was a little hungry before going to the gym so I opened them up… next thing I know I’ve finished almost 3 servings worth. Luckily I hadn’t eaten much today (I wasn’t feeling well) but regardless, those were a lot of calories and carbs that I did not need. When I got home from work today, I portioned out the rest of the crackers in individual bags so that I don’t overeat next time. 🙂

Other than that, my breakfast was egg muffins (200 calories), lunch was veggies, chicken and strawberries (300ish), I had a Quest bar as a snack and some carrots and hummus. For dinner, I made zucchini boats

I’ll post the recipe for these tomorrow. But they were only 137 calories 🙂

I feel like I’m ready to dedicate myself to this again and get my body/health back under control. It’s a good feeling.

Right now, however, I need to watch the Bachelorette and see who JoJo chooses because this drama is just too much for my heart (#teamrobby)
