Cookies & Rice Crispies

As I mentioned in my previous post, this past week for me has been extremely tough.

Wednesday I had a 24-hour-flu bug (or something of the sort), Thursday  and Friday and Saturday I had death cramps, and on Saturday I woke up with a 101 fever, sore throat and throbbing headache.  I had 1200 total Fitbit steps that day – it was all couch to fridge to bathroom to couch to fridge etc; which was not at all my initial plan. I had planned to go to Crossfit that morning, I had planned to go on a hayride pubcrawl that afternoon… but I guess sometimes your body just needs a break. I have not slept as much as I did last weekend in a LONG, long time.  Sunday I still didn’t feel too hot but I had managed to get rid of my fever the night before, so I stuck with my commitment of the 5k I was signed up for and pushed myself to get through the rest of the day. It was one of those “I need to lay down but I have so much to do” type of days. Luckily, my meal prep was super easy because it was in the crock pot. I think I was still in bed around 8pm.

Anyway, I feel GREAT now, haha. I lost another pound this week too! Annnnnd then yesterday, I had cookies and rice crispy treats for lunch (it’s fine).  I’m trying not to focus on my weight loss that much, and I think it’s working better for both my physical and mental health.

I’ve been taking classes to move into the next level of Crossfit and I have one left. Last Friday and last night were 2-a-days for me and the next days are ROUGH when you do that. Yikes. But I gotta get it done. Hopefully soon I’ll be going almost every day of the week – that’s my plan at least J

Tonight I leave for a mini vacation to Oregon and I’m VERY excited about it. I plan on a lot of hiking (I love mountains), a lot of eating delicious food and a lot of drinking delicious drinks. Making smart choices over the next couple of weeks is going to be important. I have this trip and two others planned before the end of the year – in addition to the holiday season. It’s usually easier for me to stay motivated in the winter months versus the summer months – yes, I know that’s weird.

Expect a lot of Oregon pictures in my next post as well as some details about my travels. It’s been over 2 months since my last adventure and that is just far too long of a time. Oregon has been at the top of my list for awhile, so I’m hoping it’s as awesome as I think it will be! (And yes, I will make sure to walk a portion of “The Oregon Trail” for nostalgia purposes).
