Homeownership

#lifehappens

I feel like all I ever do is apologize for lack of updates – but then I go and post 2+ in a row… and then disappear again. I’M TRYING TO GET BETTER, I PROMISE.

Last week was very busy. Had dinner with the family on Monday, went out for tacos on Tuesday, Grandpa’s funeral on Wednesday, yard stuff on Friday and then the weekend. All in all, I had excuses for not posting 🙂

Good news – I’ve decided I’m not doing anything else yard related this year. Mainly because it’s just an expense that I do not care enough about. I figure I can just let whatever’s here grow and then decide how I want to handle it next year. I still have my garden going (sidenote: no growth yet) and whatever plants they have in the backyard. Tony came over on Friday to give me some ideas and whatnot which was helpful, but I just don’t want to deal with it.

On Saturday, I ran a 5k in Tosa in 28:06 which was so much better than I’ve ever done so that was exciting. Afterwards, Brittany and I went to the Food Truck Festival in Waukesha — which would have been awesome had we dressed for the weather. It was pouring and neither of us were prepared for that. But we still ate some delicious food (and donuts) so it was a good time.

Saturday night some of the “girls from Germantown” came over for drinks & snacks & games in the basement. It was pretty low key which was nice for a Saturday.

Sunday morning I went out to brunch then on a hike in Glendale – it was pretty and the weather was perfect! And then went out to Public to celebrate a graduation.

Took Kona to the vet today for her rabies shot and ended up spending $260 in ped medication. Got her started on a preventative heartworm med as well as flea & tick – SO EXPENSIVE. I was not pleased about that. And then I came home to my first mortgage bill so…. #adultingistheworst.

Sorry for the lack of an update. I’m very stressed out right now and honestly the only reason I’m updating is because it’s on my list of things to do — and checking things off that list helps my stress levels.

I’d like some wine now.
